Aramith Premium Belgian Pool Balls are the industry standard for quality pool balls. Aramith makes tournament quality balls such as Aramith Tournament Edition Billiard Set but they also have less expensive balls. Aramith makes pool ball sets ranging from $50 all the way up to $400. While they may be expensive, the consistency and performance of these pool balls are top-notch.
Aramith is a global name in pool balls. They are the chosen ball for almost all pool leagues and big tournaments due to the consistency and durability. No one wants to miss a championship shot due to an unbalanced or a chipped ball.
Durability – 9.9/10
Aramith Pool Balls are made of the highest grade phenolic resin. Most pool balls are made of a polymer or polyester. Phenolic resin is a very strong scratch and impact-resistant material that can last way longer than the average pool balls.
An Aramith pool ball is very difficult to break, chip, or crack on high impact shots such as breaking. This is a necessity, especially when breaking because you often put all your strength into break shots.
Aramith themselves have run tests to see the longevity of the balls. As I don’t have the time to specifically test this, I’ll take their word for it. They claim that their pool balls will last 5 times as long as the average pool ball. Since they last longer Aramith pool balls are more like an investment. You may pay more now but in the long run you’ll save money.
Consistency – 9.5/10
Aramith Pool Balls are perfectly balanced to give you a smooth roll. No more worrying about the direction of the ball changing slightly on slow roll shots. However, the felt and levelness also have a factor to play in this. So, you should make sure you combine these high-quality pool balls with a level table with good pool felt.
I recently switched to Aramith pool balls and the level of consistency is definitely noticeable. If you aren’t a competitive player and just play for fun, you may not notice the difference, but I noticed it almost immediately.
Price – 9.5/10
Aramith Pool Balls are a little pricey if you’re trying to get the top-of-the-line balls. This is because Aramith is the company that supplies tournament-level balls to leagues and tournaments around the world. The quality is of the best in the business.
However, if you don’t want tournament quality balls you can find still very good Aramith balls from $50 at the low end and $200 at the high end. They fit most budgets and all of their balls are made with great precision and quality.
Design – 9.5/10
Aramith makes multiple different pool balls, one of my favorites in regards to appearance is their Black Aramith Tournament Pool Balls Set. They look sleek and cool. I love the way these look.
The Black Tournament Pool Ball Set also comes with a dotted cue ball. A dotted cue ball allows you to see the english on the cue ball. This is necessary when learning english and it is helpful for experienced players to make sure the ball is reacting how they intended. A dotted cue ball is an item you should get even if you don’t buy a full Aramith Tournament Set. It will definitely improve your game.
In writing this review it made me realize something I hadn’t noticed about the design of these balls. The Aramith balls are supposed to be burn spot resistant. This means that when hitting hard on a table, it shouldn’t create burn marks (the white marks commonly seen on bar tables). Since we switched to the Aramith balls, we don’t have any burn marks on our home pool table. This was a problem previously and we ended up recovering our pool table for that reason.
Conclusion – 9.6/10
Overall, the Aramith Pool Balls are a great buy. The tournament balls may be a little pricey for some but they are a quality pool ball set that will last many players a lifetime. They also make lower-priced balls that are still good quality.
If you’re looking for a quality pool ball set, I believe Aramith is a great option. Click on the button below to learn more.
